Holidays in Campania

The sunny Campania is the Italian region with ravishing landscape, beautiful coastline with broad sandy beaches and steep cliffs descending to the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea. Above all that dominates Mt. Vesuvius, rumbling from time to time. Countless attractions of this fabulous region, called Gateway to the South, guarantee unforgettable holidays.

The landscape and coastline of Campania are truly spectacular. There are many popular seaside resorts like Amalfi, Positano, and Sorrento, as well as the pearl of the Gulf of Naples - the luxurious island of Capri with its fascinating cave Grotta Azzurra. The vibrant city of Naples is the capital of the region. The city is well known for its love of music and delicious pizza. The area is dominated by one of the most famous volcanoes in Europe, Mt. Vesuvius. Adored for its beauty and feared for its destructive power, which brought demise upon citizens of the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Today the ruins of these once magnificent cities of the Roman Empire are a popular tourist attraction of the region. Another place of interest is Salerno, built around the harbour, with magnificent cathedral and ruins of a castle situated on a hill, from where you can admire the stunning panorama of the city.

While in Campania, it is also worth travel to the North  and visit the capital of Italy - Rome. The Eternal City with its countless historical sites and unique atmosphere every year attracts millions of tourists from all over the world.  It is also a detination for crowds of pilgrims coming to Vatican City, the Holly See and the smallest country in the world.
